Der Octave Cat Synthesizer von Cherry Audio emuliert den duophonen Synthesizer The CAT, der 1976 von Octave Electronics auf den Markt gebracht wurde. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem ursprünglichen Designer von The CAT entwickelt, behält Octave Cat ($49 MAP/$69 List) all das Brüllen des fetten, wilden Klangs der Originalhardware und repliziert seinen aggressiven resonanten Filter. Octave Cat bietet die flexible Modulation, das schreiende Audio-Range-Oszillator-Cross-Mod und die heftige Oszillator-Synchronisation der Originalhardware und erweitert dies mit erweiterter Polyphonie, einer robusten integrierten Effekt-Suite und einem vielseitigen Dual-Step-Sequenzer.
1976: Das Jahr von The CAT
In den frühen 1970er Jahren waren tragbare Synthesizer eine Seltenheit, und nur eine ausgewählte Gruppe von Musikern konnte sich die legendären Minimoog- oder ARP-Odyssey-Synthesizer leisten. In Anbetracht dessen entschied sich eine kleine Gruppe von Ingenieuren in New York, angeführt von dem brillanten 22-jährigen Carmine Bonanno, die Dinge aufzumischen und erschwingliche Synthesizer mit innovativen Funktionen zu schaffen, was zur Gründung von Octave Electronics führte.
